Roadworks
From time to time the safety camera partnership is asked by the highways authorities to assist with speed enforcement at roadworks where there are seen to be safety hazards requiring traffic to be slowed down for the safety of all road users.
Current roadwork sites:
M8 White Cart Viaduct (near Glasgow Airport) 40 mph speed limit. Speed enforcement by an average speed safety camera system will be carried out during the third phase of the bridge strengthening works from December 2011 until Spring 2012. These works will involve considerable traffic management and construction activity taking place on the road, with temporary steel plates being inserted on the running surface of the carriageway. Care is required and vehicle speeds must be kept within the legal limit.
