A77 - 50mph speed limit

A77 - 50mph speed limit

Between Bogend Toll and the Dutch House roundabout on the A77, the speed limit has been reduced for road safety reasons to 50mph.  The reduction, set by Transport Scotland, came into effect on Monday, 10 March 2008.

Partnership manager, Gladys Cadden, commented: The vast majority of drivers have been observing the new limit which has been put in place to make the road safer for all users. There has been high compliance with speed limits in general on the A77 since the SPECS average speed camera system was installed and it is our hope that this will continue.

A full bus-rear advertisement is currently running on the route daily between Ayr and Glasgow as an additional reminders to drivers - see picture.
