ITS 30 FOR A REASON  CAMPAIGN

It’s 30 for a Reason campaign launches on 3rd November.

The campaign which highlights that speed limits apply as much at night as during the day took off on Real Radio, along with billboard poster sites throughout the west of Scotland.  A full page advert in the Celtic/Manchester United match programme and adverts in lifestyle magazines are also in the plan.

The message is that there is no excuse for speeding even if it is midnight and the road appears clear.  A third of pedestrian collisions involving people 18 - 25 take place between 10pm and 4am.  Even if a pedestrian emerges out of nowhere, if they are struck at 30mph or below they will have a striong chance of survival, however, if the driver is doing 40 they are almost certainly going  to have a death on their conscience.

At the end of November the campaign moves onto 28 cinema screens in the Showcase complexes at Linwood and Coatbridge.
