MAJOR MOTORWAY REBUILD ON M8 IN GLASGOW

MAJOR MOTORWAY REBUILD ON M8 IN GLASGOW A £5million project to reconstruct 3km of the busiest section of motorway in Scotland started on the M8 in Glasgow on 1 July 2007. Road users are warned to plan journeys carefully as delays are possible on all approaches to the works including the northbound M77 and local roads. For everyone’s safety the speed limit will reduce to 40mph. The limit will be enforced by SPECS average speed cameras which are effective in minimising the risk to road users and have proven benefits in reducing congestion by improving the flow of traffic. The work is due to be completed in mid-August.
