Roadwork cameras on M8 in Glasgow from 1 July 2006

Major road reconstruction is due to be carried out on Scotland’s busiest stretch of motorway during the school holidays.  Work is scheduled to begin on 1 July 2006 when traffic restrictions come into force on the M8 between junctions 25 (Cardonald) and 22 (Plantation).

Safety of road workers and other road users is a priority and a temporary speed limit of 40mph will apply throughout the works.  A SPECS average speed safety camera system will operate to encourage drivers to keep within the limit.

Works are due to finish by 21 August 2006.
