Roadworks - M74 near Lesmahagow
18 February 2007 for planned six weeks. 50mph temporary speed limit will be enforced by a series of Gatso cameras in both directions. Vehicle activated signs will also be used to remind drivers of the restricted speed limit.
This major reconstruction scheme investing £3.5m into the vital upgrade of a key section of the M74 near Lesmahagow will get underway on 18 February to refurbish 3.5km of the northbound carriageway which has become worn over time.
For driver and workforce safety, a reduced speed limit of 50 mph will be in place through the work site, enforced by safety cameras. Drivers are asked to be patient, drive with care and observe the speed limit while the 42 day work programme is being delivered.
